Two women were arrested yesterday for a series of robberies in which they posed as potential apartment buyers on the Upper West and Upper East Sides.
The women, Jessica Joyner, 39, and Jennifer Jones, 33, are both residents of the Upper East Side, police said. Police said the pair had raided jewelry and other valuable items from apartments that were up for sale. One of the women would distract the real estate broker who was showing them the apartment, as the other allegedly pilfered the items from the home, according to police.
Police officials had video surveillance footage showing the two women, and arrested one after getting a tip from a license plate. The first of the pair to be arrested identified the second suspect, police said.
They are to be charged with grand larceny, petit larceny, and possession of stolen property, police said.
