‘How Not To Write a Best Seller’
David Blum writes in his article on Joshua Ferris’s novel, “Then We Came to the End,” “Try asking for ‘the office novel’ at Barnes & Noble and see how far you get.” How far he got was the book, which he bought [Arts & Letters, “How Not To Write a Best Seller,” May 15, 2007].
Our Lincoln Triangle store carries more than 150,000 different book titles and has been selling Mr. Ferris’s novel consistently.
As of May 16, the store had 39 copies on hand, and upon request, can get delivery of more within 24 hours. The store also posts book reviews regularly.
Our booksellers selected Mr. Ferris’s novel for the Discover Great New Writers program. Discover books are prominently displayed for more than three months and discounted at 20% off at 695 Barnes & Noble stores throughout the country. “Then We Came to the End” may not be a bestseller yet, but Barnes & Noble clearly values and actively promotes the book.
