TASTEFUL DISPLAY Paintings by Robin Tewes are on display in “Tasteful Obsessions.”The title piece is painted on a tea tray, and other paintings depict empty interiors and solitary figures in suburban homes. Through Saturday, January 28, Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Adam Baumgold Gallery, 74 E. 79th St., between Park and Madison avenues, 212-861-7338, free. Note: The gallery will be closed December 24-31.


RUG RENAISSANCE Shari Urquhart’s rug-hook reinterpretations of Renaissance art are on display in “The Fuzzy Museum.” She uses the traditional handicraft playfully to rework portraits of Medici princesses and princes, goddesses, and Northern Renaissance altarpieces. The works on display draw from the work of artists including Botticelli, da Vinci, and Jan Van Eyck. Through Friday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Cheryl Pelavin Fine Arts, 13 Jay St. at Staple Street, 212-924-9424, free.
