SNAP TO IT The Boston-based Snappy Dance Theater makes its New York debut with a program that includes a piece based on the illustrations of Edward Gorey. The contemporary company’s work fuses dance, circus performance, theater, martial arts, gymnastics and puppetry. IMPROV AFTERNOON Sachiyo Ito’s Salon Series No. 23 is titled “Renku and Dance: An Afternoon of Improvisation.” Ms. Ito performs improvisational dances; poets Terry Ann Carter, Penny Harter, William Higginson, and John Stevenson improvise verses, and Yumi Kurosawa and James Nyoraku Schlefer offer musical improvisations.
