JUNIOR SYMPHONY John Tartaglia of “Avenue Q” emcees the New York Philharmonic’s Young People’s Concert series, which kicks off this weekend. The program, including music by Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky, helps children learn about how composers create music for an orchestra. The concert is intended for children ages 6 to 12. Before the show, children can meet Philharmonic musicians and try out instruments at an interactive Kidzone Live! music fair. Saturday, 2 p.m., Kidzone Live! at 12:45 p.m., Lincoln Center, Avery Fisher Hall, Broadway and West 65th Street, 212-875-5656, $7-$26.
