MELLOW YELLOW Daffodils take over Union Square Park during Daffodil Fest, sponsored by New Yorkers for Parks. Three million yellow flowers bloom every spring across the city, and the goal of the festival is to cover the city with more and more of the beautiful blossoms. Free maps of the best places to see daffodils are provided, along with the opportunity to reserve daffodil bulbs for planting next fall. ORCHIDS ON VIEW The 26th Annual International Orchid Show gathering orchid experts from around the world. The flowers will be arranged in the Japanese Sogetsu tradition, featuring 100 bamboo sculptures among the 50,000 orchids. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Rockefeller Center, 600 Fifth Ave., between 49th and 50th streets, free.
