An aide denies that the former secretary-general has bought a house in Tangier.
In an unsigned e-mail, an aide in his Geneva office wrote, “Mr. Annan has not bought a house in Tangiers.”
The e-mail, responding to a question sent Tuesday afternoon, arrived yesterday morning after The New York Sun published a story in its Thursday edition saying the purchase had occurred.
“Mr. Annan was in Morocco last weekend to deliver a speech at the Assilah Foundation near Tangiers,” according to the email.
