Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. boldly claims he’s not afraid of “germs” like the coronavirus because he used to snort cocaine off toilet seats.Mr. Kennedy made the comment during the opening minutes of an interview on the “This Past Weekend w/Theo Von” podcast hosted by former reality TV star Theo Von.It was part of a discussion about how the two met each other during pre-Covid drug addiction recovery meetings in the Los Angeles area.Mr. Kennedy went on to say he continued to meet daily with about 15 members as a “pirate group” during the pandemic shutdown.“I said, ‘I don’t care what happens. I’m going to a meeting every day,'” Mr. Kennedy told Mr. Von.“I’m not scared of a germ. You know, I used to snort cocaine off of toilet seats,” Mr. Kennedy added.Mr. Kennedy, a former heroin addict, says he has been clean for more than 40 years and continues to attend daily recovery meetings.Mr. Kennedy has been criticized for claiming vaccines cause autism, trying to have fluoride pulled from the American water supply, and lessening the number of vaccines on government recommended lists.An advocacy group that fights for affordable health care said the comment is the latest example of why Mr. Kennedy “is the most dangerous, in over his head, ill-suited person ever to lead such an important federal agency that has life-and-death power.”“Resign,” The president of Protect Our Care, Brad Woodhouse, said in a one-line response to Mr. Kennedy’s comment.
