‘Lox & Loaded’: NRA Teams Up With Jewish Gun Club To Combat Rising Antisemitism

America’s most prominent gun-rights organization is joining forces with a Jewish American gun club, Lox & Loaded, to help Jewish gun owners defend themselves amid rising antisemitism. The NRA’s partnership with Lox & Loaded, which will be formally announced later this week, aims to bring firearms training programs, educational initiatives, and outreach events to the Jewish community to “empower more individuals to exercise their constitutional rights responsibly,” according to a press release reviewed by the Sun.The chief executive of the NRA, Doug Hamlin, said in a statement that the organization was “proud” to partner with Lox & Loaded in supporting “their important work in the Jewish community.” By combining forces, he added, “we can reach new audiences and ensure that responsible gun owners — regardless of background — have the training and resources they need to protect themselves and their loved ones.”Lox & Loaded was founded in the wake of Hamas’s October 7, 2023 massacre and the subsequent global surge in antisemitism. The nonpartisan organization already boasts more than 1,000 members across 30 chapters, including three in New York, and seeks to equip Jewish Americans with the knowledge and tools to protect themselves and their communities — ensuring that “Never Again” is not just a slogan.“We exist for the Jewish community and our allies who believe in lawful, responsible preparedness and the importance of standing together,” the group writes on its website, adding that “preparedness should never be rooted in fear” but in “love for our families, our traditions, and our right to live openly and securely.”Many members had never held a firearm before joining, or had previously opposed gun ownership. Part of the group’s mission is to help Jewish Americans familiarize themselves with firearm safety and maintenance and grow comfortable with gun ownership. Operating under the motto “Shoot & Schmooze,” Lox & Loaded also aims to create a space where members can gather and speak freely about their concerns over rising antisemitism.The collaboration comes as antisemitic incidents have surged to historic highs in America and globally. A new report by Tel Aviv University found that more diaspora Jews were murdered in antisemitic attacks in 2025 than in any year in the past three decades. America saw several deadly attacks in 2025, including the fatal shooting in May of two Israeli Embassy staff members outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. In June, an 82-year-old woman marching at a peaceful demonstration in honor of the Israeli hostages was killed when a man threw Molotov cocktails into the crowd while shouting “Free Palestine.”“In a time when our communities face rising threats and antisemitism, responsible firearm ownership is no longer optional — it’s essential for self-defense and peace of mind,” said the co-founder of Lox & Loaded, Gayle Pearlstein. “Together, we’re not just teaching skills; we’re building stronger, more prepared communities where Jews and our allies can stand united in defense of our families and freedoms.”
