A second teenager was fatally shot in the head in Far Rockaway yesterday, just a few blocks from where a 15-year-old girl died and five other men were injured in gunfire over the weekend.
The body of the 16-year-old boy, Tyrese Johnson, was found yesterday near the same corner where five men were shot in a hail of bullets on Sunday. The shooting occurred just steps from where Brandon Bethea was also gunned down as she danced at a party outside of her old apartment building on Redfern Avenue Saturday night.
Both Bethea and Johnson were shot in the head. The five men suffered nonfatal injuries.
No arrests had been made in the most recent shooting as of yesterday evening.
Police officials said they were also still looking for Bethea’s killer, or any witnesses who might have seen the shooting. Four 40-caliber bullet casings were found in the area. “This young woman lived outside the neighborhood. She was there for a dancing contest,” the police commissioner, Raymond Kelly, said yesterday.
Police said they were still investigating whether the latest shooting was related to the others.
