‘Quinn Wielding Her Clout in Contest Over Pedicabs’
What planet is Christine Quinn living on [New York, “Quinn Wielding Her Clout in Contest Over Pedicabs,” April 12, 2007]? A pollution free form of transportation is beginning to burgeon in our heavily polluted city, and she actually tries to cripple it? For starters, maybe she should see “An Inconvenient Truth.”
The city should be doing everything in its power to promote transportation alternatives to the automobile. Mayor Bloomberg should be strongly applauded for blocking this shortsighted and foolish legislation.

‘George Marlin’s Interview’
With respect to Joseph Safina’s letter on the “litmus” test of the Conservative Party of New York vis a vis abortion rights, let me state that I like litmus tests [Letters, “George Marlin’s Interview,” April 10, 2007].
I have a pro-life litmus test, a pro-defense litmus test, a pro-Israel litmus test, a pro-charter schools litmus test, an anti-tax hike litmus test, and so forth. If a candidate fails any of these make-or-break standards, I will not vote for him.
This is called “having principles.”
