Trump Touts His List of 365 Accomplishments This Past Year, Including Punishing ‘Crackhead and Grifter’ Hunter Biden

Among a list of his proclaimed accomplishments this past year, including securing the border and seeing record-high stock gains, President Trump includes a personal one — ending the security detail for “crackhead and grifter” Hunter Biden. Mr. Trump’s list ranges everything from extending his tax cuts to cracking down on the much-maligned paper straw. Mr. Trump visited the White House press briefing room for the second time this year on Tuesday to tout what he sees as his accomplishments. For two hours, the president read from his list, trashed his enemies, and took questions from the press. He did not read every item from the list, and instead focused more on things like immigration, the economy, and foreign policy. A closer look, however, shows that many of the president’s listed accomplishments are about erasing the legacies of his Democratic predecessors. At item 243, Mr. Trump’s staff lists as an accomplishment the fact that he “stripped notorious crackhead and grifter Hunter Biden of his taxpayer-funded Secret Service detail.” The cancellation of the detail took 18 agents away from Mr. Biden and 13 agents from his half-sister, Ashley Biden. Presidents and first ladies are entitled to lifetime secret service protection, while vice presidents and former president’s immediate family members receive protection for a few weeks or, at most, several months. Before leaving office in 2021, Mr. Trump signed an order directing the Secret Service to protect his adult children and their spouses for six months after his departure. Mr. Trump also revoked the Secret Service detail of Vice President Kamala Harris, despite President Biden having extended her protection due to the fact that she had been the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee the previous year. Mr. Trump does not stop at mentioning the “crackhead” as he goes down a list of grievances. The accomplishments list also notes that he “revoked more than 100 security clearances of deep state actors responsible for weaponizing and politicizing intelligence, including Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Alvin Bragg, Jake Sullivan, Hillary Clinton, Letitia James, Liz Cheney, John Bolton, Adam Kinzinger, Anthony Blinken, James Clapper, and Fiona Hill.”At another point, he mentions his Environmental Protection Agency’s revocation of President Obama’s “Endangerment Finding,” which is a federal rule that undergirds much of the federal bureaucracy’s environmental regulations. In that accomplishment, however, Mr. Trump refers to his predecessor as “Barack Hussein Obama.”In total, more than 10 percent of Mr. Trump’s “accomplishments” list — 39 out of 365, to be exact — mentions the name “Biden.”Other parts of the list seem to be stretched to try to get to 365 items. Several bullet points mention his bill to extend his tax cuts last summer, while other items on the list simply expand on the various provisions of the 2024 tax bill itself.Another “accomplishment” listed is the fact that he “constructed giant new American flags on the White House grounds as a symbol of American strength.”Peppered throughout the list commemorating Mr. Trump’s first year in office also includes some policy items that have never come to fruition. Item number 88 states that Mr. Trump directed credit card companies to cap interest rates at ten percent — something that did not come true before his deadline of January 20.
