Trump Threatens Iranian Infrastructure After Yanks Rescue Second Officer of the F-15E Downed in Iran

Emboldened by the rescue of a missing pilot from behind enemy lines, President Trump is raising his threats against the remaining Islamic Regime leadership, offering a curse-laden social media post on Easter morning that threatens annihilation of Iran’s infrastructure.“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. TRUMP,” the president posted on Truth Social.If Iran doesn’t “make a deal and fast, I’m considering blowing everything up and taking over the oil,” he added on Fox News on Sunday. “You’re going to see bridges and power plants dropping all over their country.”The commentary by the president has raised concerns about the escalating specter of a war that the president said just last week could be contained in a matter of weeks. The president has issued such threats before but delayed attacks as mediators claimed progress toward ending the war on agreeable terms. In response to the president’s remarks and echoing some Democratic lawmakers, Iran’s parliamentary speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, posted on X that the president would be committing war crimes by hitting civilian infrastructure. The targets or their military purpose are currently unknown.“Your reckless moves are dragging the United States into a living HELL for every single family, and our whole region is going to burn because you insist on following Netanyahu’s commands. Make no mistake: You won’t gain anything through war crimes,” he said, referencing the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.Despite the garrulous posts, Mr. Trump has suggested that the war could be coming to an end as early as Tuesday, telling Fox News on Sunday that he believes Iran’s remaining leaders are now ready to negotiate. Facilitators in Pakistan, including Turkey and Egypt, told Axios on Sunday that they are less optimistic that a deal with Iran is imminent.“I think there is a good chance tomorrow, they are negotiating now,” the president said. He added on social media that he will host another news conference, with military leaders, on Monday from the Oval Office.The remarks come as details emerge of the rescue of a second officer whose F-15E Strike Eagle crashed Friday after being shot down by Iranian forces. The first crew member was rescued almost immediately.The president said the pilot was located deep inside the mountains of Iran. More than 200 service members were said to be involved in the operation, according to the New York Times while Axios said the president was concerned the initial communication with the airman had been a trap set up by Iran. Mr. Trump said the aviator — a highly respected colonel — was seriously wounded, but “will be just fine.” “This brave Warrior was behind enemy lines in the treacherous mountains of Iran, being hunted down by our enemies, who were getting closer and closer by the hour,” Mr. Trump wrote on social media. “This type of raid is seldom attempted because of the danger to ‘man and equipment.’ It just doesn’t happen! The second raid came after the first one, where we rescued the pilot in broad daylight, also unusual, spending seven hours over Iran. An AMAZING show of bravery and talent by all!” he posted.The fighter jet was the first American aircraft to have crashed in Iranian territory since the United States and Israel entered the war on February 28. The strikes on Iran and retaliation by Iran on its neighbors, has killed thousands, shaken global markets, cut off key shipping routes, and spiked fuel prices. Mr. Trump said last week that the United States had “decimated” Iran and would finish the war “very fast.” Two days later, Iran shot down two U.S. military planes, showing the ongoing perils of the bombing campaign and the ability of a degraded Iranian military to continue to hit back.On Saturday, Iran’s state TV aired a video showing what it claimed were parts of American aircraft shot down by Iranian forces, along with a photo of thick, black smoke rising into the air. The broadcaster said Iran had shot down a C-130 American transport plane and two Black Hawk helicopters that were part of the rescue operation.The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also promised a $60,000 reward for anyone who turned in the “enemy pilot.” It also reportedly cordoned off the mountainous southwestern Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province as well as the energy-producing southern Khuzestan region while Iranian military forces and local nomadic tribes searched for the sole pilot.A regional intelligence official briefed on the mission told The Associated Press that the U.S. military blew up two transport planes that had been carrying the commandos used in the extraction effort, forcing it to bring in additional aircraft to remove the forces on the ground and complete the rescue. One Black Hawk had been hit but remained airborne. On Sunday, the president confirmed that a second airman whose whereabouts had not been known had also been retrieved during the simultaneous search and rescue. He said the U.S. did not confirm the mission because “we did not want to jeopardize our second rescue operation.” He said it was the “first time in military memory that two U.S. Pilots have been rescued, separately, deep in Enemy Territory.” “The fact that we were able to pull off both of these operations, without a SINGLE American killed, or even wounded, just proves once again, that we have achieved overwhelming Air Dominance and Superiority over the Iranian skies,” he said, though some news reports said several U.S. servicemembers were injured during the rescue.Israel assisted in the operation by withholding its attacks on Iran and offering intelligence on the ground. The New York Times said that the CIA was essential to the rescue, which assisted the pilot with evasion efforts in a region whose population is hostile to Iran’s leadership.Despite some internal support for regime change, the president also told Fox News that efforts to get guns to protesters in January failed when they were sent via Kurdish fighters, who did not deliver them to their intended recipients.
