Trump Takes Victory Lap After Texas Primaries, Including Celebration of ‘Lunatic’ Al Green No Longer Being in Congress

After another successful primary revenge operation, President Trump is taking a victory lap Wednesday over the electoral outcomes in Texas. His successful ouster of Senator John Cornyn is a major political show of force, though the president seems even happier that Congressman Al Green will no longer be in the House. Mr. Trump successfully knocked off Mr. Cornyn on Tuesday by endorsing Texas attorney general Ken Paxton, who beat the longtime U.S. senator by about 25 points. Texas is just the latest state to join the ranks of those which have fallen in line on behalf of Mr. Trump’s revenge operation. In a series of Truth Social posts on Wednesday, the president touted the strength of his endorsement and thanked Mr. Cornyn for his friendship and his “truly great” career. He made a special point to call out Mr. Green, as well, after the 11-term Houston Democratic congressman lost his primary on Tuesday. “Al Green, one of the most mentally deficient Congressmen in the history of our Country, has lost, in a landslide, his seat in Congress,” Mr. Trump wrote after Mr. Green was drawn into a new district and forced to run against a first-term fellow Democrat, Representative Christian Menefee. “But I will miss that lunatic not screaming and violently waving his cane at me during my next State of the Union Speech.”Mr. Green has twice been ejected from the House chamber in the last 16 months for heckling Mr. Trump during his two speeches to Congress. Last year, Mr. Green stood up in the middle of the House floor to protest the president, yelling that he did not have a “mandate to cut Medicaid.” After several minutes of holding up his cane while shouting at the president, he was subsequently warned by Speaker Mike Johnson that he would be forcibly removed from the floor. Minutes later, Capitol Police officers, at the direction of the speaker, escorted Mr. Greene out of the room.Mr. Green was later censured by the House for his actions. Earlier this year, Mr. Green again led a one-man protest on the floor during Mr. Trump’s State of the Union speech. During that event, Mr. Green stood silently on the floor holding a sign that said, “Black people aren’t apes,” referring to a video Mr. Trump had shared on Truth Social of President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama. The video showed the former first couple as apes and other Democrats as various animals, though Mr. Trump said he did not mean to post it and later took it down after several Republican members of Congress criticized him. On Wednesday, Mr. Trump ended his message with a simple sign off: “GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!”Besides the post about Mr. Green, the president also touted his own record of successful primary endorsements across the country. For months, he has been on a revenge tour from Indiana to Kentucky to Louisiana, trying to knock off Republican incumbents at the state and federal levels. One post he shared Wednesday was a graphic from Fox News noting the fact that he has a 100 percent success rate in his 108 endorsements in Republican House races, nine Senate races, and eight gubernatorial races across the country. He also shared an article from the Gateway Pundit describing his own primary endorsement successes as the ushering in of the “Trump Dynasty.”“Thank you America for this unprecedented support!!!” the president wrote.
