Army Investigating Apache Helicopter Flyby Over Kid Rock’s Nashville Mansion

The U.S. Army is investigating why one of its attack helicopters was caught on video hovering over the Nashville home of singer Kid Rock over the weekend, officials with the 101st Airborne Division say.Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, posted a video on X Saturday showing him standing by his rooftop pool, saluting and fist-pumping what appeared to be an AH-64 Apache helicopter idling just feet from his residence in the Nashville suburb of Whites Creek.Mr. Ritchie shared the clip with the caption: “This is a level of respect that sh** for brains Governor of California will never know. God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her.”The video, which has been viewed more than 7 million times and accumulated hundreds of thousands of likes, also offered a glimpse into Mr. Ritchie’s 27,000-square-foot mansion, designed in the style of the White House. Visible in the clip are a Statue of Liberty replica and a wooden sign reading “The Southern White House.”However, the post ignited confusion over whether the helicopter’s detour was coincidence or the product of a government directive. Critics who assumed the latter condemned the excursion as a waste of taxpayer money.Amid growing scrutiny, a spokesman for the 101st Airborne Division confirmed Monday that it had opened a probe “to review the circumstances surrounding this activity.”“The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell maintain strict standards for aviation safety, professionalism, and adherence to established flight regulations,” Major Jonathon Bless said in a statement Monday. “We take all concerns regarding aircraft operations and their impact on the surrounding community seriously.”Major Bless noted that the helicopter was in Nashville for training purposes and was not associated with the No Kings Rally taking place in the city that day.
