Alana Newhouse To Lead Nextbook.org

Alana Newhouse, the arts and culture editor of the Forward, will be leaving her position at the end of this week and assuming the role of editor in chief of Nextbook.org beginning September 1.

Ms. Newhouse joined the Forward as an intern in the summer of 2002 and become a reporter in September of that year; she was named the arts and culture editor in March 2003.

Nextbook.org is an online magazine dedicated to Jewish literature and culture. Its parent organization, Nextbook, is a multidimensional cultural organization that publishes books, sponsors lectures, and stages panel discussions, performances, and readings on Jewish themes. In her new position at Nextbook.org, Ms. Newhouse will succeed Joanna Smith Rakoff, who resigned as editor earlier this month.
