ISLAND PRIDE
Scottish radio show host Fred Macaulay emcees the “Icons of Scotland” benefit dinner. This year’s honoree is actor Alan Cumming. Scottish chef Kevin Macgillivray prepares the dinner. IMAGINE JAPAN
Japan Society’s first arts gala, “Imajine,” honors Yoko Ono, Robert Wilson, and Takashi Murakami. The evening begins with cocktails and a preview of “Little Boy: The Arts of Japan’s Exploding Subculture,” curated by Mr. Murakami. Guests can also view the recently commissioned building-facade banner he designed. Yuka Honda,a member of the Japanese expatriate duo Cibo Matto, provides music during dinner at the nearby United Nations Delegates’ dining room. Wednesday, 6 p.m., meet at Japan Society, 333 E. 47th St., between First and Second avenues, 212-715-1219, $500 and $1,000 general, $250 under 24 “Young Patrons.”
