CROSSING THE BORDER Israeli filmmaker Eran Riklis’s new movie, “The Syrian Bride,” tells the story of a woman who must cross the Israeli-Syrian border to meet her anxious groom. RUSSIAN QUIXOTE The Russian film “Don Quixote/Don Kihhot” (1957) sets Cervantes’s classic tale in a dusty Spanish wasteland. Nikolai Cherkasov stars as the wayward knight and Grigori Kozintsev directs. It is filmed as part of the ongoing series Spanish Cinema Now, co-presented by Instituto Cervantes. CINEMATIC COUPLES Two Boots Pioneer Theater offers a variety of eclectic double bills over the holidays.
