FASSBINDER’S FOX A series of screenings of films by the prolific German filmmaker Rainer Werner Fassbinder concludes with “Fox and His Friends” (1975), about a lottery winner who is taken advantage of by new friends. AMERICAN STORY On Fridays in February, the Brooklyn Public Library screens a four-part PBS documentary, “Africans in America.” The series concludes with “Judgment Day (1831-1865).” Friday, 6 p.m., Brooklyn Public Library, Central Library, Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn, 718-230-2100, free.


LOVING THE BOMB Stanley Kubrick’s classic Cold War satire “Dr. Strangelove: Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb” (1964), starring Peter Sellers several times over, is screened in the East Village. REMEMBERING AN ARTIST BAMcinematek presents “Man in the Dunes: Discovering Hiroshi Teshigahara,” which celebrates avant-garde Japanese artist and film director Hiroshi Teshigahara.The series kicks off with a weeklong run of “Antonio Gaudi” (1984) and continues with “Summer Soldiers” (1972), as well as new prints and new translations of “Pitfall” (1962), “The Face of Another” (1966), and “Woman in the Dunes” (1964).
