CUTIE PIES GONE CRAZY The group exhibition “Oh, You Beautiful Doll” at the Andrea Meislin Gallery presents playthings in unusual poses. Curated by Douglas F. Maxwell, the exhibit ranges from painting to video to photographs to multimedia sculpture. Mr. Maxwell is a writer, licensed psychoanalyst, and adjunct professor of arts at NYU. This exhibit looks at the symbolic usage of dolls to explore the human experience. Above is “Kissers 1 & 2” by Davis & Davis. At left is “Dollhouse: Listening to Laurie” by Donna Bassin. Other artists contributing to the exhibit are: Corinne May Botz, Elena Dorfman, Julie Farstad, Stephen Roach, Elena Sisto, Sharon Switzer, Lydia Venieri, and Karen Yasinsky.
