HEALING AT SEA Mercy Ships, an international charity that operates a fleet of hospital ships for developing nations, presents an exhibit of work by photojournalist Scott Harrison. He followed teams of doctors that treated thousands of people, and took photographs aboard a hospital ship in Liberia and throughout West Africa. A gala benefit, which includes a silent auction, raises funds for surgeries on board the Mercy Ships. Above, a crowd waits in line for days to see Mercy Ships doctors in Benin last year. Exhibit: Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. daily, free. Benefit: Wednesday, September 7, 6-11 p.m. Both events: Metropolitan Pavilion Gallery, 123 W. 18th St., between Sixth and Seventh avenues, 212-463-0200, $125.
