POETIC MADNESS The Rubin Museum of Art presents the third John Giorno Poetry Festival. Mr. Giorno joins other poets and performers – including Jim Carroll, Deborah Harry, and Chris Stein – in reflecting on the museum’s current exhibit, “Holy Madness: Portraits of Tantric Siddhas.” Tonight and tomorrow, 7 p.m., Rubin Museum of Art, 150 W. 17th St., between Sixth and Seventh avenues, 212-620-5000 ext. 344, $12.
TRIBUTE The Poetry Society of America presents an evening of Asian-American poetry dedicated to the life and work of activist Chris Iijima, who died in December. Readers include Meena Alexander, Marilyn Chin, Luis Francia, Eric Gamalinda, Kimiko Hahn, Ishle Yi Park, Vijay Seshadri, Barbara Tran, and Shanxing Wang. Arthur Sze introduces the program. The evening is co-sponsored by the Asian American Writers’ Workshop and the New School Graduate Writing Program.
