The founder of “Pastors for Trump,” Jackson Lahmeyer, has ended his bid for Congress and apparently deleted all of his social media pages after he was caught in an affair with a woman who is not his wife. Mr. Trump quickly endorsed the other GOP primary candidate after Mr. Lahmeyer made the decision to quit. Mr. Lahmeyer’s sensuous affair was first reported by the Daily Mail. After that report, Mr. Lahmeyer still came in second place in the preliminary primary election to represent Oklahoma’s deep-red First Congressional District, which covers Tulsa. In the runoff, he was due to face state representative Mark Tedford, who is now the Trump-endorsed candidate and presumptive GOP nominee. NOTUS was first to report on Wednesday that Mr. Lahmeyer was expected to quit the race for Congress. In a statement Wednesday, Mr. Lahmeyer said he made the decision to end his campaign after “prayerful consideration.”“I do not want to be a distraction to my family, my church, and the great people of Oklahoma’s 1st Congressional District,” Mr. Lahmeyer wrote on X. The Daily Mail’s exclusive report on Mr. Lahmeyer’s personal life was first published on Sunday — just 48 hours before the primary election in the First District. The report detailed his physical contact and sensual text messages with a fundraiser, Caitlin Simmons Key. Ms. Key claims she and Mr. Lahmeyer kissed on several occasions despite having five children with his wife, Kendra Lahmeyer. Ms. Key shared some of the “thousands” of text messages Mr. Lahmeyer had sent her, including one praising her “lips” and another saying that he had left the president’s Mar-a-Lago club to go to a strip club. “My reputation, my privacy, my relationships, and the people I love have all been impacted by” her decision to come forward, Ms. Key told the Daily Mail after Mr. Lahmeyer advanced to the second round of voting in the GOP primary on Tuesday. “Even so, I stand by it. The facts are public. Voters now have information they did not have before.”
