Facing strong opposition in the state and city legislature, proponents of Mayor Bloomberg’s congestion pricing plan will rally today to build support for the legislation. The Legislature must pass a congestion pricing plan before March 31 to qualify for federal funding for the project, lending an urgency to their efforts to convince lawmakers that the plan is sound. The rally, led by the Campaign for New York’s future, an umbrella group of over 150 city organizations supporting congestion pricing, will take place on the steps of the state capitol in Albany. Afterwards, representatives of the group will meet with several dozen state senators and Assembly members individually.
