The manager of a popular Manhattan eatery was stabbed multiple times early yesterday morning in Midtown, police officials said.

George Atterbury, the general manager of Grayz on West 54th Street, was pummeled and slashed with a box cutter by a group of three men at about 7 a.m. in front of 222 East 40th St., police said. Mr. Atterbury, who told police he had left a friend at the W Hotel prior to the incident, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in serious condition, police said.

The three suspects pulled up to Mr. Atterbury in a black sport utility vehicle, attacked him, and fled the scene in the same vehicle, police said.
