Police have arrested a woman who they believe fatally stabbed a man at a Bensonhurst Best Western motel last month.

Police arrested Pamela Hanson, 20, as she was meeting with a probation officer this week in Brooklyn following a previous drug arrest.

Police said they had used the dead man’s phone records and surveillance video to uncover Ms. Hanson’s identity after she was seen entering the motel with the victim, David Diaz, 26, on December 2.

Police said Ms. Hanson has claimed that she stabbed Diaz after becoming scared during a sexual encounter in the motel room. She said they had been friends, and that Diaz, a cleaner on a cruise ship, had offered to help her find work.

After she allegedly stabbed him, police said Ms. Hanson cleaned up the blood and left.
