Teenager Charged for Virginia-Inspired Threat

The Queens high school senior who wrote a note threatening an attack at his prom that would rival the Virginia Tech shooting was charged yesterday with aggravated harassment and falsely reporting an incident.

Michael DiGiovanni, 17, faces jail time if convicted.

“Whether intended as a joke or not, the writing of such a letter must always be taken seriously,” the Queens district attorney, Richard Brown, said.
