‘Bloomberg’s Timing’

I take issue with your claim that New Yorkers should be proud of their presidential trifecta [Editorial “Bloomberg’s Timing, March 9, 2007]. Who among the trifecta has been willing to remake New York’s economy into a dynamic jobs creation engine?

Mayor Giuliani cut a fine figure on September 11 but gave away the store to the unions for years before that. Mayor Bloomberg has scrupulously avoided offending the unions.

How long must a mayor serve before he realizes that there is bloat in New York City’s government? That the city’s public favors Mayor Bloomberg over Mayor Giuliani in a presidential race does not bode well for New York’s future. I wonder what the country thinks about New Yorkers’ commonsense.
