‘South Park’ Renamed ‘SOUTH AMERICA’ in New Season Shot at Trump

The decades-old show “South Park” is getting a rebrand ahead of a new season sure to focus heavily on President Trump. The show will now be known as “SOUTH AMERICA,” a jab at the president’s habit of renaming bodies of water. The new season of the crass animated show is set to air on September 16, and will almost certainly focus heavily on Mr. Trump again. Since returning to the air last summer, the showrunners have put out two seasons that feature all kinds of characters from the Trump administration. Mr. Trump is portrayed as a petulant narcissist constantly screaming at his staff, while Vice President JD Vance is portrayed as a tiny man constantly referring to the president only as “Boss.” A major plotline in the season is Mr. Trump’s sexual relationship with Satan. Several members of the cabinet are also mocked in the two most recent seasons. The creators of “South Park” — Trey Parker and Matt Stone — announced on Tuesday that the show was being renamed after Mr. Trump signed an executive order renaming Lake Ontario as “Lake America.” After that order was signed, Apple and Google changed the name of the lake on their maps. “Inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google, we are changing the name of South Park to SOUTH AMERICA,” the creators wrote before taking a shot at their parent company Paramount Skydance, which is owned by the Trump-supporting David Ellison who is now trying to buy CNN-parent Warner Bros. “We especially want to thank our parent company Paramount — a Skydance Capitulation,” Messrs. Parker and Stone wrote. Since returning to the White House, Mr. Trump has seemingly been obsessed with various renovations, construction projects, and name changes being made not only here in America, but abroad. He announced in his inaugural address that the Gulf of Mexico would be renamed as the “Gulf of America.” His administration is currently in the middle of a legal battle in an attempt to put Mr. Trump’s name on the front of the Kennedy Center, a memorial to President Kennedy. Since the “Lake America” name change, he has floated other ideas as well. He posted an image on Truth Social over the weekend showing New Mexico renamed as “New America.” Last week, Mr. Trump floated the idea of renaming the Strait of Hormuz as the “Trump Strait.”In a recent interview with New York Magazine, Mr. Trump admitted that part of the reason he spends so much time on monument building and the construction of his ballroom is because he does not believe that anyone will build anything in his honor once he leaves the White House. “That’s true,” Mr. Trump said when asked about that possibility. “Nobody will do it once I’m gone. When I leave here, nobody will.”
