Passengers depart Saturday morning and touch down in Tobago in the early afternoon. Return flights to New York leave Saturday midafternoon for an evening arrival.

Malaysian Airlines (www.malaysiaairlines.com, 800-552-9264), the largest passenger carrier in Southeast Asia, now offers AsiaPass 2005. For $3,777 (business class) and $5,777 (first class), flyers can make three free stopovers within Southeast Asia, including destinations in Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

SPRING BREAK

It’s not too early to start planning for spring break. For cost-conscious students, several warm-weather destinations offer good value.

In South Beach, the historic Art Deco, three-star Boulevard Hotel Ocean Drive is steps away from trendy restaurants, clubs, and shopping; rooms start at $92, with complimentary breakfast. The stylish, Euro-minimalist, three-star Aqua Hotel sits at the center of South Beach and offers a hydro-spa and complimentary continental breakfast for $139 a room.

SNOWMOBILING

For those attracted to winter landscapes, Wyoming’s Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail rates as the “Best in the West,” according to SnoWest Magazine, the sport’s leading publication. The 365-mile route winds through Grand Teton National Park, offering spectacular scenery. (For more information, call 800-645-6233 or visit www.wind-river.org.)

Arizona’s Hidden Meadow Ranch offers plenty of snow, with horse-drawn sleigh rides, sledding, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing on the area’s groomed trails, snowmobiling in the National Forest, and skiing and snowboarding at nearby Sunrise Ski Resort. (For more information, visit www.hiddenmeadow.com.)

SURFING

Vista Guapa Surf Camp in Jaco has easy access to some of the best surf breaks on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, challenging surfers of all levels. Four-time consecutive national champion Alvaro Solano and his family run the camp very much like a bed and breakfast. For advanced surfers, he points the way to the best breaks, and provides daily instruction for beginners. His wife helps coordinate other activities and provides home-cooked breakfasts and savory Costa Rican coffee.

Vista Guapa offers deluxe lodging in three air-conditioned bungalows, each with ocean views and private baths, breakfast and dinner, and transportation to and from the best surf breaks. Lessons last up to three hours, and a small boat takes surfers to some of the lesser known breaks, including the renowned “Secret Spot” in nearby Punta Caldera. On Saturdays, the resort offers free shuttle service to and from the international airport in San Jose.
