Trump Asks When Iranians Will ‘Rise Up and Fight’ as Tehran Strikes American Bases Across Middle East

Iran attacked U.S. military targets in Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq and the UAE in response to a series of American strikes against the Islamic Republic on Tuesday. The Iranian Army said it launched drone attacks on U.S. bases in Bahrain and the UAE, targeting radar systems and troop positions. Iran also fired 13 ballistic missiles at Jordan, 10 of which were intercepted. The IRGC said it targeted Camp Titin, a U.S. Marines base near Aqaba in Jordan.The spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaqari, warned that the “continuation of U.S. aggression in the region would trigger increasingly heavy, extensive, and destructive responses.”President Trump, meanwhile, denied that a series of American attacks in Iran were meant to bring back Tehran to the negotiation table while asking when the Iranian people will “rise up and fight?”“I’m not trying to force Iran to the bargaining table as ABC Fake News reported. I couldn’t care less if they sign a worthless, to them, agreement. I like our position now much better, with almost total control of the Hormuz Strait, and their economy totally collapsing. They are just playing out the inevitable,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “When are the Iranian people going to rise up and fight?” he added. Trump said the “large and powerful” attacks were launched and in retaliation for the Iranians’ “failed attempt at adding sea mines to the Strait (of Hormuz), which currently has no mines (They have been completely removed or detonated!)…”“If the failed Nation of Iran retaliates for this very justified attack, they will be hit again at a much harder and higher level, but it will not be the biggest attack of them all, that is waiting in the wings and, when it is over, there will be very little left of the Islamic Republic of Iran!” Trump concluded. The president’s comment came after the U.S. army carried out a series of attacks against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), targeting air defense sites, radar systems, maritime assets and facilities, mine laying capabilities, and communications sites.“The strikes follow recent attempted attacks by the IRGC against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members,” the U.S. Central Command said in a post on X, adding that more than 50,000 U.S. service members are currently operating across the Middle East and remain “vigilant, lethal, and prepared to continue executing operations directed by the Commander in Chief.”At least 11 people were killed in the attacks, according to Iranian media, including seven in missile strikes in the southwestern province of Khuzestan.The U.S. army also attacked two Iranian tankers with missiles in what Axios reported is part of a new “tanker for tanker” policy, quoting a U.S. official. Iranian media also reported that an American attack targeted a wedding in the city of Kuhestak in the southern Sirik county which left four people killed. Iran’s top negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, issued a harsh rebuke of the U.S. following the alleged attack, saying: “Minab school: children massacred. Lamerd sports hall: kids slaughtered. Kuhestak wedding: children killed with families. If a power acts like Satan, picks targets like Satan, and kills like Satan, it’s Satan. Shields a junior Satan that does the same? It’s THE Great Satan.”CENTCOM spokesman Capt. Tim Hawkins told Axios that the U.S. is “aware of the reports, which originated from Iranian state media. The U.S. military never targets civilians, unlike the IRGC.”
