25 Years of Peace, but We Must Keep Fighting for Our Freedom

Twenty-five years later, after the horrific sneak attack on the Twin Towers, and then the Pentagon, and then the great bravery and the awful plane crash that landed at Shanksville, Pennsylvania, instead of Congress.Twenty-five years later I want to say America is winning. Have we completely won the war against terror? No. But there have been no major attacks in the 25 year period. And Khalid Sheikh Mohammed should have been sentenced, I get that, but he’s rotting away in prison.Osama Bin Laden was killed. America captured the 9/11 plotters. We’ve stiffened our spine. We realized the world is still a dangerous place. We’re still trying to end the radical Islamists in Iran, but the fact remains the country has been safe for 25 years after that after that awful day of 9/11.Here’s President Trump at the Pentagon this morning:“September 11th reminded us of the terrible power of hate. The 25 years since have shown us the even greater power of the American spirit to endure and prevail, and to win. And today, our country is stronger than it has ever been before. It has never been as strong as it is right now.” He added that “because of that spirit, when future generations come here in 25, 100 or 250 years from now, they will stand in a nation that is free and unyielding in the face of evil, and they will still honor the heroes of 9/11 2001, who no age will erase from the memory of time. It will never, ever be forgotten. Will never be forgotten. And we can never forget. God bless our 9/11 families. God bless our unbelievable, brave, and beautiful first responders. God bless the United States military and God bless America”You’ve got this crazy band of left-wing socialists, including Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his pals, who are trying to degrade the tragedy of 9/11. Yet who cares about them? They’re a flash in the pan, and I believe they’re going to lose badly in the next round of elections. As New York’s police commissioner, Jessica Tisch, put it: “the men who attacked this city were terrorists. The men and women who ran into the towers to save innocent lives were heroes.”She is right and let us not forget that. There should be no moral confusion here.Meanwhile, the downtown ground zero area has been rebuilt, frankly it’s better than ever before. Lower Manhattan is thriving.I know no one likes the metal detector security lines in the airport, but it’s a small price to pay for our safety.Today was a day of remembrance and a day of unity. Many different presidents and mayors from different political parties gathered together to speak up for America. To be sure, Americans will always be concerned that it can happen again. But today was an America First moment. And today is a day when America belongs to those who love it.From Mr. Kudlow’s broadcast on Fox Business Network.
