Alina Habba Gets Her Groove Back: Trump Ally Set To Marry Turkish Billionaire in Third Trip Down Aisle

The lawyer Alina Habba, 42, has long been an ally of President Trump — and now she is reportedly set to wed on Saturday for a third time, Turkish billionaire Turhan Mildon, 29. The president is expected to be in attendance for the ceremony at New York City.Mr. Mildon is the chief executive officer of Turkey-based Miller Holding, a family business. Middle East Eye reports that Mr. Mildon has invested some $1 billion in construction projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, including $67 million for a “drone base” at Kisangani. News of the nuptials came first from the Correspondent. Mr. Mildon, who divorced a Turkish heiress in January 2025, previously dated the daughter of Venezuelan admiral Remigio Ceballos, who in 2019 was sanctioned by America for working “on behalf of the oppressive regime of former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.” Mr. Ceballos served as the now-incarcerated president’s interior minister and as a senior military commander for the deposed dictator. Mr. Mildon tells Middle East Eye that his marriage “has no political motivation.”Ms. Habba, a Chaldean Catholic whose parents hail from Iraq, served as Mr. Trump’s defense lawyer in the defamation suit brought by the sex-and-advice columnist E. Jean Carroll, as well as in the civil fraud suit brought by New York’s attorney general, Letitia James. Mr. Trump lost both cases, though his appeals in both are before the Supreme Court and New York’s highest appellate court.In March 2025, Mr. Trump appointed Ms. Habba as acting United States attorney for New Jersey, an interim appointment that lacked confirmation by the Senate, which is the constitutional pathway to a permanent position. In August 2025, Judge Matthew Brann ruled that Ms. Habba had overstayed her 120-day temporary appointment. The Third Circuit subsequently affirmed her disqualification.That disqualification was affirmed by a panel of the Third United States Court of Appeals. The circuit judges ruled that adopting the Department of Justice’s argument for why Ms. Habba’s appointment was valid would allow any person to “avoid the gauntlet of presidential appointment and Senate confirmation and serve as the de facto U.S. Attorney indefinitely.” The court concluded that Ms. Habba “is not the Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey.”Judge Brann reasoned that “because she is not currently qualified to exercise the functions and duties of the office in an acting capacity, she must be disqualified from participating in any ongoing cases.” Following the Third Circuit’s ruling, Ms. Habba resigned as acting United States attorney. Attorney General Pam Bondi named Ms. Habba Senior Adviser to the Attorney General for United States Attorneys, where she remains under Attorney General Todd Blanche.Ms. Habba’s pathway to Senate confirmation was impassable because New Jersey’s two senators — Cory Booker and Andy Kim, both Democrats — refused to allow her to proceed to a vote. Their opposition stemmed not only from her closeness to Mr. Trump but also from her prosecution of two Garden State Democrats, Congresswoman LaMonica McIver and Mayor Ras Baraka of Newark, over an altercation at an ICE facility.The case against Mr. Baraka was thrown out, but the one against Ms. McIver has survived numerous motions to dismiss. Earlier this month, a federal judge, Brian R. Martinotti, dismissed a libel lawsuit filed by Mr. Baraka against Ms. Habba for calling his activism “grandstanding.” Judge Martinotti held that “making a public statement about potential criminal activity within a prosecutor’s jurisdiction falls within the ambit of a prosecutor’s employment.”In August, Ms. Habba told conservative podcaster Benny Johnson that, in respect of the job of White House press secretary — formerly occupied by Karoline Leavitt — “If the president called me and asked me? Of course I would do it. Do I think I could do it? Absolutely. I feel that I kind of had done it before he was in the White House to some extent.”Ms. Habba’s first marriage was to another lawyer, Matthew Eyet. They divorced in 2019 and had two children together. She married businessman Gregg Reuben in 2020. They divorced earlier this year.
